Training
Please
Note :
Audiblox services may only be presented by Certified Audiblox Tutors.
Tutors must be trained and declared competent by an Audiblox Master
Trainer in order to become certified.
In order to present Audiblox classes at a fee, one needs to attend a
training course. Teachers who want to use Audiblox in their classrooms
may also attend a training course. Training courses are offered in the
United States, Australia, New Zealand, India and South Africa.
The duration of a training course is five days, from 9am - 4pm every
day, usually from a Monday to a Friday, but it may also be spread, for
example, over five consecutive Saturdays, etc.
How does it Work
:
When conducting Audiblox
classes as a service to schoolchildren, each group must receive a minimum
of three lessons per week of one hour each. Up to 15 school children
may be tutored simultaneously.
The classes are presented on three levels. New enrollees of all ages,
excepting preschoolers, will start at Level 1. New learners can be incorporated
into a Level 1 class at any time. There is no need to use a waiting
list, or to start a new class to accommodate new learners. Once a leaner
has achieved all the requirements for Level 1, he is promoted to Level
2. As soon as he has made sufficient progress on Level 2, he is promoted
to Level 3.
The preschool program also operates on three levels. A minimum of three
classes per week of 20-30 minutes each must be presented. Up to 10 preschool
children may be tutored simultaneously.
In a formal school setting the whole class is usually taught simultaneously.
The teacher will use the School program, which requires 30 minutes four
or (preferably) five times per week. Less time is required for preschool
children.
Objectives of
the training :
The objectives of the
training course are (1) to give an individual a thorough knowledge and
understanding of the theory that underlies the Audiblox program and
(2) to master the group application of the Audiblox program.
On completion of the course,
provided that the objectives were achieved, course attendants are awarded
a certificate.
Course Material
:
The course materials include
the book The Right to Read, the Audiblox Training manual, a Persepto,
a set of word cards, 10 learner sets, and 10 workbooks, logical thinking
exercises booklet, and promotional CD. The Persepto is a large, rectangular
board, which the Audiblox Tutor puts on a table in front of the class.
Each learner in the class needs a learner set and a workbook.
The learner sets are non-consumable, which means that an Audiblox Tutor
can use the same learner sets for all her classes year after year. Workbooks
are not used when Audiblox is presented to preschool children.
